WELCOME

To seeing a side of my writing, crafting, and interpretation of creative briefs. My academic briefs can be read up on here, and my live blog as a passion project is available at http://www.eatdrinkcapetown.co.za/

Who am I as a writer?

I’ve spent many hours as a young adult on the Atlantic navigating through icy sprays, sheets of chill and sore shoulders. But I always awaited the next obstacle with salty grin. It’s a bit like my writing. I write and then I keep writing. And refining. Until a splash of feedback drives me to a direction for creating. Similarly to the ups and downs of working on a boat, I grasp onto the project briefs with a firm hand, allowing slack where some spots require less intention and centring focus to flow of copy to brand.

What do I do?

Looking at the work I produce as well as the challenges within the brands, I find it meaningful and impactful to the brands that are typically selected, with emphasis on the philanthropy or ethics of their companies. My favourite brands to work with are typically local.

The relationship between sea and copy.

The same way that campaigns are intricate and occasionally exhausting to deliver upon, the reward from creating something meaningful is just as sweet as an orange-tinted sunset after an unrelenting sea.
